As I uploaded the 64 page 54Mb Conference Guide file to the printers website yesterday, the 7th RSA Conference Europe marketing campaign was almost at an end and this time next week the team will be in Amsterdam preparing for the doors to open on another great conference.
This is the first year the conference has been held in Amsterdam and looking at delegate numbers alone it has been a popular decision. Delegates to last year’s conference in London came from an amazing 53 different countries, but the catchment area for Amsterdam and easy access by car or train from some large European cities means the overall delegate numbers are great.
For me, 10 months of planning and marketing activity to persuade delegates to attend the conference starts in January when we plan the speaker recruitment with the Call for Speakers campaign. In Amsterdam there will be over 100 speakers participating in over 60 educational information security sessions.
In May the delegate recruitment commences with a 6 month on and offline campaign to highlight the educational and networking benefits of attending the conference. The marketing campaign rolls out in conjunction with the development of the session agenda, so initially we have no idea what the content, speakers or topics covered will be, so we have to be creative.
